On the occasion of Independence Day meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has announced the distribution of houses. The distribution of houses will be started in Hyderabad from next week. More than 1 lakh houses were announced to be built in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Limits, out of which 75,000 houses have been constructed so far, which will be distributed in phases.
Out of 75,000 houses, 4.5 thousand houses have already been handed over to the beneficiaries. The construction of the remaining 25,000 houses is going on fast; they will be distributed after the completion of the construction process. A total of RS 5.4 lakh house is being prepared in rural areas by Telangana Government. On the other hand, a double bedroom costing RS 7 lakh can be prepared in urban areas. Telangana Government passed a budget of RS 30,000 crore for this scheme.
