Indian Government has started Kisan Karz Mafi Yojana 2023 to make farmers debt free. Under this campaign, efforts are being made to waive off the loans of the farmers and give them a debt-free life. India’s debt-free campaign has been started by the Ministry of Agriculture and Welfare of India. This scheme was launched in 2021. Kisan Karz Mafi Yojana was started in 2022 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this scheme was implemented in many states of India. Under this scheme, by waiving the debt of 26 lakh farmers of India, an attempt was made to give them a debt-free life.
Kisan Karz Mafi Yojana has also been started in Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, 6 lakh farmers have already get benefited from this scheme. If farmers have less than 5 acres of land and are in debt, they can fill out this application form. Farmers’ debt-free campaign also has been started in Jharkhand as well; this scheme has been launched in Jharkhand in 2021. Loans up to RS 50,000 are being waived off by the Jharkhand Government. The total expenditure of this debt-free campaign will be RS 4 lakh crore, for which the budget has been passed.
