The full name of the scheme is Nammai Kakkum 48 scheme. Under the scheme, the government provide emergency care to the person injured in the road accident in Tamilnadu and they would provide free treatment for 48 hours. Government introduce the scheme in 2020 when December and Chennai.

Chief Minister M.K Stalin provides free treatment for 48 Hours to road accident victims in the state. The government provide free emergency care in 6009 government and private host petals in Tamilnadu. Under this scheme, they will also provide free 81 life-saving procedures which cost around 1 lakh to the extent victim. The people who are from other states are also covered under Nammai Kakkum 48 scheme.

The announcement of this scheme was on 18 November 2020 won by the Chief Minister. This game will cover all the people who have no Health Insurance. During the first phase of the scheme, the government-sanctioned 50 crore rupees for road accident victims. The government also implement emergency Medical Services and the road safety authority facility for the better implementation of this scheme. This game is under the chief minister’s comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme in Tamilnadu.

• The people from the Tamil Nadu state and from the other state both covers under this NK- 48 scheme.
• The government will pay the medical bills of accident victims for the 48 Hours treatment in any government and private hospitals.
• There are 204 Government Hospitals and 405 Private Hospitals included under the scheme.
• The beneficiaries who are not eligible for Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Tamilnadu can avail of the benefit of this scheme.
• The free treatment is provided by the state government with the collaboration of the Department of highways and the Department of transport.
